While there are moments when there’s seemingly nothing to smile about, or even times when smiling could be considered inappropriate, it appears that people, in general, smile less or no at all. What are your thoughts on this? Is it due to some sort of unhappiness? The fear of looking vulnerable and wanting to appear “hard”?

Yes, a smile is free and it can change one’s day, but only if the smile is genuine. More often than not the smiles I have noticed and received are not genuine… So if people are not smiling it’s ok, I’ll rather take that than a fake smile. At least does people are being real…
