Some say that as far as nutritional supplements go, turmeric may be the most effective. Seemingly on a daily basis, studies are showing the numerous blessings use of turmeric can bestow within your body from head to toe. Here are a few.
One of the encouraging items of information uncovered by these studies is that consumption of turmeric can help in the treatment of depression. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin which, among other things that shall be mentioned shortly, can boost brain neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine – the receptors in your brain that effect your levels of alertness, motivation, appetite, satisfaction, relaxation, and pleasure. When you have the appropriate levels of dopamine and serotonin, you are generally happy, get restful sleep, feel focused, energetic, and motivated. If there is a serotonin and dopamine deficit, then one is much more likely to have slower reaction time, low energy levels, obsessive/compulsive behaviors, and to be more aggressive. Since curcumin is said to and is showing to be effective as an anti-depressant, maybe you might consider adding it to your eating plan as long as it won’t interact unfavorably with anything you’re currently taking. Consult your physician.
Another health benefit turmeric may provide is helping to prevent, and possibly even treat, cancer. Studies are going on as we speak showing evidence that curcumin may assist in averting cancer before it occurs, reducing the growth and spreading of cancerous cells, as well as contributing to eradicating cancer molecules. With the increase in the number of people being diagnosed with cancer, particularly cancers of the digestive tract, you might be wise to keep an eye and ear out on these studies. Oh, and in the meantime, be sure to generously sprinkle on the turmeric.
Last, yet certainly not least, turmeric can inhibit a multitude of molecules known to be major contributors to inflammation. With its strong anti-inflammatory properties, curcumin is quite robust and can duplicate the potency of some anti-inflammatory drugs – sans the side effects. Anyone who has experienced chronic inflammation, and nowadays that seems to be more people than not, can and will attest to the painful consequences of its wrath. It is accepted that inflammation is a major contributor in most of the chronic diseases of the Western Hemisphere including cancer and heart disease. Turmeric, with its ability to work at the molecular level, can thwart chronic, low-level inflammation in its tracks before it becomes a problem.
Turmeric has a plethora of health benefits for its consumers including the treatment of depression, the prevention and handling of cancer, and the reduction of chronic inflammation. In today’s world, each of the aforementioned diseases have become far too prominent. You have the power, and now the information, to make an educated decision to improve the health and the wellness of yourself and your loved ones. You know what to do. Don’t put it off until tomorrow, next week, or next month. The time is now to start on the path of better health and feeling good.

How do you “sprinkle it” into your diet? How much do you need for it to be effective/beneficial?

Tumeric is a powder form what I’ve experienced. So that’s how you’d sprinkle it into your diet. Tablespoon per day to start sounds ok.
